Youths Suspend Protests In Oyo, Issues 48Hrs Ultimatum

The Convener, Oyo Youths Campaigning Against Bad Governance, Kunle Odujare has announced the decision of the group to suspend the ongoing protest in the state. According to a communique issued by Odujare, the move is to ensure proper coordination of the protesters as he expressed displeasure over the violence in Ojoo area of Ibadan.

Odujare, who sympathises with the families of those that lost their lives in Ojoo prays for a quick recovery for those hospitalised. The group stated that measures are being put in place to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

While announcing the adoption of Challenge, Iwo Road and Secretariat as the point for a peaceful protest, the group said announcements will be made on the location of protest in the state. The group reiterated that on no account will Ibadan protest will be violent.

Odujare said youths in Oyo state will ensure that their protests on the need for police reforms, bad governance, infrastructural development among others will be communicated without crisis or causing mayhem in the state. He said Nigerian youths will not be tired to continue the protest until a better Nigeria is achieved.

The group also called on the media to continue to support the protest as they issued a 48 hours Ultimatum to governor Seyi Makinde to constitute a credible judicial panel of inquiry that will look into the issues of injustice.
