There has been pandemonium in the Iyano community under the Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State as youths attack pastor for refusing traditional rituals.
The reports had it that pastor Micheal of the Evangelical church denied the youth access to carry out rituals in his church and this was when the issues started.
The rejection from the clergyman angered the youth, who went away only to return in the night with weapons they used to attack the man while he was asleep.
The source who seems to know the pastor personally said,
“They wanted to perform to the gods of the land which we call ‘Ane’ in Igala land. The pastor told them that this is not the right place to do it, and they should leave.
… they came back in the night fully kitted with dangerous objects to beat him to Coma. They were up to 20. We are praying right now that nothing should happen to our brother because he is currently in critical condition.”
Kogi state police are currently investigating the matter, and the victim, Pastor Micheal, is currently receiving medical care at the Idah hospital.
