In light of the planned protest by the youth of Rivers state, the state’s governor, Nyesom Wike releases a statement yesterday banning any form of protest within the state.
From the time of the announcement yesterday, several citizens have come out to confront the Governor on his decision and asking why he is denying the residents of his state the freedom to exercise their rights. Public figures have only aired their opinion on his decision and among them is Genevieve.
Reacting to the governor’s statement banning #EndSARS protests, Popular Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji took to microblogging platform, twitter in a tweet that read,
“Your moustache says it all. You could have chosen to be any kind of leader you wanted. You chose to be a dictator. Do you have children? That’s a shame. LEADERS WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for every loss of innocent life in their State.#ENDSARSOPPRESSION #EndSarsNow”
Governor Wike has earlier stopped the youth of Rivers state from partaking in any protest because according to the governor, the F-SARS unit had been disbanded already as the Inspector General of Police had announced on Sunday
