The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has disclosed that he does not visit the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja for solutions to insecurity challenges in his State.
During an interview on Channels Television, Bello said he acts on information he receives from security agencies in the State and does not pay lip service to such information.
Governor Bello noted that he prefered to sit down in his State and profer solutions to security challenges facing it.
Bello opined that some Nigerian governors are not serious about dealing with insecurity frontally.
The Governor said he does not believe in running to President Muhammadu Buhari whenever there is an issue in his State. He further urged his colleagues to reduce the President’s burden and save the lives of their citizens.
According to him, stakeholders in Kogi state collaborate with security agencies to analyse intelligence to forestall the breakdown of law and order.
He stated that governors need to implement policies that will end the farmers-herders crisis in some parts of the country.
The Governor stressed that his administration ensures synergy among the different security agencies in the State to secure the citizens’ lives and property.
