Disney TV show, The New Mutants, release date postponed AGAIN

The release date of X-Men’s New Mutants has been changed, this time to April 3rd 2020. Not only has X-Men launched a series of films, but they also had spin-offs. One such spinoff is The New Mutants, created by Josh Boone (Stuck in Love).

Disney also revealed on Tuesday the films it currently has slated through 2027, including potential films, along with its acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Potential films include Avatar 2 and following sequels through the years and a new Star Wars trilogy.

New Mutants Rumors

There were also rumors surrounding the film release. The loudest one suggested that it wasn’t going to be released on the big screen anymore. It would just go to HULU or one of the other streaming services.

Initially, the film’s release date was previously postponed from April 13, 2018, to August 2019 to allow for reshoots to add an additional character, while later reports claimed that at least half of the movie might be reshot over creative differences between director Josh Boone and Fox brass.

The New Mutants was slated for release on August 2, 2019, but will now open April 3, 2020.
