Where is God of Adeboye?
Nigerians now await the aftermath effects of the peaceful protest against the deteriorating state of security across Nigeria led by the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Adeboye on Sunday.
One of the requests of the Pastor to God was that He sends His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country. Since there are accusations that some bigwigs, politicians, business Moguls, security chiefs, perceived sympathisers among many others are having fun and getting rich from the blood shed rocking the nation, what type of revelations should Nigerians then expect?
It would be recalled that the well-respected over seventy years old Pastor was seen during a prayer walk cum protest, carrying a placard that reads “All Lives Are Precious To God” as he led his church members from Ebute Meta to Atan Cemetery in Yaba metropolis and back.
This comes after the gruesome murder of Lawan Indimi, the chairman of this body in Michika Local Government in Nasarawa by Boko Haram terrorists and the death of one of the kidnapped seminarians in Kaduna. Michael was the last of the four seminarians kidnapped from the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kakau, Kaduna State.
The other three seminarians had been released in the previous days and are now receiving medical care. Aid to the Church in Need reported that the director of the seminary carried out the recognition of the body. Archbishop Augustine Akubeze, of Benin and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, on Friday had made an appeal to ACS regarding the strong insecurity “throughout the country”, in a situation of unprecedented gravity.
A lot of reactions have trailed the prayer walk by members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) led by their head pastor, Enoch Adeboye which took place on Sunday, February 2. Among prominent Nigerians who reacted to the demonstration against rampant killings and rising insecurity in the nation was former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.
On his Twitter page, Sowore saluted the courage of the church for their move against the ugly trend in Nigeria, adding that the kind of resistance is the key to liberation.
