What Muslims Should Do Before Eid-Fitr Prayer

The Chairman, Muslim community, Oyo state chapter, Alhaji Kunle Sanni has advised Muslim faithful to wait for the announcement from the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar before proceeding for Eid-Fitr Prayer.

Sanni, who is also a member, General purpose committee of the supreme council for Islamic affairs congratulated all Muslims in the World for their patience and steadfastness in the Holy month of Ramadan.

He also advised them to maintain the spiritual fervour and moral sublimity after the Holy Month.

The Chairman re-echo the Islamic teaching about adherence to leadership advice adding that all Muslims in Nigeria is under the hegemony of the Sultan whom he described as versatile enough to be qualified for leadership.

He added that the Sultan had informed Muslims in Nigeria to search for the new moon on the 29th of Ramadan.

Eid-Fitr Prayer

According to him, If they cannot sight the moon on Friday, it means Muslim faithful in Nigeria would complete the 30 days fast and celebrate Eid-Fitri on Sunday.

Sanni advised that Muslim faithful should adhere to the lockdown order to stay safe and put an end to the further spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Meanwhile, the Sultan had disagreed with some Northern state governors over weekend’s Eid-Fitr Prayer.

The Sultan who is also has given a directive that Muslims should observe the prayers at home in adherence to the COVID-19 protocols.

You will recall that the Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed had earlier announced that Muslims would be allowed to observe the Jumat prayer on Friday and the Eid prayers subsequently.

Also, Yobe, Jigawa, Gombe, Borno, and Zamfara government lifted the ban on mosques in their respective states.
