MC Oluomo, the said leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, was fired from his job at the federal level but eventually had another encounter after the sad incident.
Surprisingly, the relieved union leader whose real name is Musiliu Akinsanya later was given another opportunity to serve in a different capacity as the Chairman of Parks Management Committee, PMC.
This new position was offered to him by the Lagos State Government as it was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso.
The Commissioner informed the public that the committee will oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the State.
However, the reason for the appointment sounded quite unrealistic as it was said that MCOluomo’s reinstatement in a different serving capacity is in fulfillment of the government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers, are not allowed to threaten law and order.
Twenty-three other members of the committee were also selected to continue work with the newly appointed chairman and they were selected following consultations with stakeholders in the sector.
