Watford football club of England is ready to appoint the oldest manager to coach a club in premier league history.

The Hornets are keen to make a swift appointment for former England coach Roy Hodgson following Claudio Ranieri‘s dismissal on Monday.

74-year-old Hodgson has been out of the game since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season after revealing wanting to go on a break from the game.

Relegation Threatened Watford Seeks Quick Fix

Watford is seeking a quick fix after being grounded second from bottom in the league table with just 14 points from twenty games.

Hodgson in his 45 years career has managed 16 clubs across 8 countries, with the likes of Blackburn, Liverpool, Fulham, West Brom and Crystal Palace being a Premier League side.

He has cemented the tag of helping teams survive relegation struggles after successfully helping Fulham, West Brom and Crystal Palace avoid relegation.

Watford would be hoping for his magic to survive the relegation fight as they are back in action on February 5 when they visit another relegation-threatened side, Burnley.
