The West African Examination Council, WAEC has denied report making the round that the Mathematics paper scheduled for Monday, August 17 has been leaked.
Replying to a tweet alleging the leakage of the 2020 WASSCE Exam questions, the council described the purported leakage as fake as it also warned candidates not to fall prey of scammers.
A twitter user @iotama22, who draws the attention of the examination body to the alleged leakage also posted the paper as he also challenged the body to investigate and punish those behind the leakage.
The tweet reads “WAEC maths paper scheduled for today has leaked since weekend according to sources. See the paper here. What kind of a country is this for God’s sake??? I hope the people responsible will be investigated and punished as appropriate.”
In its response, WAEC noted that only gullible candidates will fall prey adding that scammers spread the rumour of the purported leakage every year.
However, the examination body announced that the penalty for bringing a mobile phone or any other electronic device into the examination hall is the cancellation of the Entire Result.
