VP Osinbajo Joins W/African Leaders to Address Burkina, Mali, Guinea Crisis

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has joined other West African Leaders in Accra, Ghana, representing President Muhammadu Buhari at the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS Summit on the situation in Burkina Faso, Mali & Guinea.

The spokesperson of the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, tweeted the message today, informing Nigerians that Osinbajo is joining prominent W/African leaders in considering additional sanctions, as well as other options to affirm democracy & support constitutional rule in the sub-region.

Reacting, some youths on the micro-blogging platform commended the effort of the Vice President as they all understood the need for such intervention in fellow African nations.

Osinbajo Receives Commendations

Via his Twitter handle, Francis Ekpeyong @ekpesfrancis, said, ‘Whatever it takes to return these countries to civil rule, I support it. We can’t be talking about coup d’etat in 2022. I have never seen any country that did so well coming out of military rule. This has to stop.’

Similarly, @MustaphaOlatu19, said there is a serious need for Africans heads need to find a lasting and permanent solution to this coup and prevent it from becoming the “new normal” as the world has gone past this stage. This time, we focus on how the continent should develop and compete with the globe.
