Following Arsenal’s knockout from the Carabao Cup, the North London club has intensified their negotiations with Vlahovic as the previous talks have proved difficult. The Fiorentina player is thought to be hesitant over the move and instead favouring a club in a better place to win silverware immediately.
It is believed the player views Juventus as his preferred destination and the club’s sporting director Federico Cherubini is expected to meet the striker’s agent in the coming days. Arsenal boss Arteta has already addressed the relentless rumours touting the club with a move for him (Vlahovic).
Mikel Arteta has insisted Arsenal is working tirelessly to sign the right players this transfer window. He said: “We have a plan to try to bring players in and try to get the players we want with the right qualities and improve the squad in the best possible way every single window.”
The Gunners are in desperate need of a striker, as exhibited by their failure to score a goal against Liverpool across the two legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final. Arsenal’s last chance of silverware was snatched from them by a dominant Liverpool side who ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates after a 0-0 drawback at Anfield in the first clash.
