Italian Serie A leaders Napoli is preparing to let Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen go with Manchester United and Newcastle United all in the market for the striker. The Nigeria international has been a subject of transfer speculations since arriving on the Italian side from Ligue club side Lille in 2020.
Manchester United joins Newcastle in Victor Osimhen Chase
Osimhen boasts a decent track record in Italy since joining Napoli for a record fee of £67.5m deal from Lille. He scored 11 goals in 22 games for the club this season. He scored ten goals in his first season in the club taking his total to 21 strikes in 52 appearances. A host of several European clubs have been linked with the Super Eagles striker, with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Newcastle United leading suitors.
Barcelona, Arsenal, and Liverpool have also indicated interests in the 23-year-old striker. However, according to reports the race for the signing of the Nigerian is heating up but the club has said the club with the highest bid is the club the player will join, and English Premier League side Newcastle United is the club with such potential. If Victor Osimhen joins Manchester United he will be the second Nigeria to play for the club after Odion Ighalo.
Newcastle is preparing an £84m bid for ria and if that happens the former Lille striker will become the most expensive African player which is currently holding after joining Napoli.
