Vanguard reporter, Mr Tordue Salem, who has been nowhere to be found and had both his family and authorities searching, has been pronounced dead.
In October, the journalist went missing that not even his colleagues from his office or at the beats knew his whereabouts.
It was gathered that the description of where Salem was found, how he died, when he passed, and other relevant information was unclear.
Around night time on Thursday, the insufficient details of his death has people questioning the authorities to get more insight on what transpired that led to the sudden demise of the brilliant journalist.
It was earlier reported that Tordue is a Federal House of Representatives correspondent and was last noticed around Total filling station, close to Abuja’s force headquarters.
Also, the members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, through the chairman in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, notified the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, that one of theirs had gone missing.
However, investigations have commenced, and the police have arrested a young man named Prince Enyenihi, 25, for attempting to extort the reporters family.
The suspect reportedly sent a message to the deceased’s wife with a hidden contact and demanded the sum of one hundred million naira ransom.
His message read in part, “If you don’t pay, Tordue will be killed in seven days. For more information, call this number.”
