Unstoppable Chelsea Cruise Past Leicester

The Premier League table-toppers, Chelsea, consolidate their lead at the summit of the EPL table with a comfortable 3-0 win against Leicester City.

The London side had all to play for at the King Power stadium as their last league win at the turf was in 2017.

Former Leicester City players Chilwell and Kante made sure the ‘Blues’ ended the day with a sublime win, as they played their former side to the ground.

It took just three minutes for Chelsea to show intentions against the foxes as Ben Chilwell slammed an effort off the bar.

He then contributed in the 14th minute from a corner where Toni Rudiger headed into the net to give the away side the lead.

The host has had trouble defending set-pieces as the goal made it 20 they have conceded from set piece since the start of last season.

Ademola Lookman thought he had given the home side an equalizer when he slotted in a Jamie Vardy pass but was flagged offside by the referee.

Not long after, Ngolo Kante moved the ball forward from the middle to unleash a sublime strike in the 28th minute with his left foot that kept Kasper Schmeichel hanging.

Chelsea Dominates Leicester

The second half started with a double substitution for Leicester, as Brendan Rodgers brought on Kelechi Iheanacho and James Maddison to help change the game’s tide.

The substitution seems not to have made any difference, as Chelsea dominated their host in all areas.

With 20 minutes remaining, a combination of Chelsea substitutes put the game beyond reach as Christian Pulisic scored from an Hakim Ziyech pass.

The score could have been worse for the home side but for the offside flag that denied Chelsea after scoring three goals more.

The result keeps Chelsea 6 points at the top with others yet to play, and Leicester remains 12th.
