Following the recent increase racist attacks on players, Manchester United head coach has come out to commend one Man Utd player who responded positively to racial abuse.

Man Utd player Lauren James the sister to Chelsea and England right-back Reece James was recently abused on social media. The 19-year-old was sent abuse online, with fellow United players Axel Tuanzebe and Marcus Rashford.

James said she “couldn’t stay quiet any longer”. After saying this, the head coach of Man Utd female team Stoney said they she proud of the player for speaking out.

According to the manager, bravery is an act of courage and she is happy someone is finally speaking. Most Manchester United players alongside other players have been racially abused and are getting out of hand.

The forward James said in her post: “Unfortunately, it’s not the first time and won’t be the last, but we don’t have just to accept it.” She also said: “We have to continue to shout and make a noise until actual actions take place.”

The player was abused after Manchester United lost at home in the female Premier League during the weekend.
