All Courts in Ebonyi State have been shut down by the State Governor, David Umahi after a new development was recorded on the effect of the virus.
The courts were shut down after the state recorded its first casualty since the coronavirus was detected in the state.
Umahi announced the court closure during a state broadcast he made the Ebonyi State residents.
Umahi did not only shut down all Courts in the State, but he also ordered all judiciary staff members to with immediate effect get tested for coronavirus.
He also lamented the death of a state resident, a victim of coronavirus who died recently after suffering complications related to the virus. Umahi described the death as regrettable.
This is coming after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC announced a total of 745 new cases of coronavirus in the nation.
Out of the new cases, Lagos has 280, Oyo 103, Ebonyi, 72, FCT 60, Imo 46, Edo 34, Delta 33, Rivers 25, Kaduna 23, Ondo 16 and Katsina has 12.
Also Kano has 10 new confirmed cases, Bauchi 8, Borno 7, Kwara 5, Gombe 4, Sokoto and Enugu 2 each, Yobe, Osun and Nasarawa have 1 each.
The new coronavirus update brings the number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 18,480 with the number of death climbing to 475 and 5967 discharges.
In total the country now has 11,678 active cases of coronavirus across different states.
