Amidst the Ukraine-Russia war which is still worsening and becoming intolerable for citizens of the affected cities, some Ukrainian and Russian negotiators have created room for peace talks in Turkey.
However, the report revealed that their body languages do not seem promising as the meeting was described as a negotiation without handshakes.
The meeting in Turkey on Tuesday for the first face-to-face talks in nearly three weeks, has seen the Ukrainian team requesting for a ceasefire from their russian counterparts.
The ceasefire arrangements to help end the Ukraine-Russia war, according to the negotiators from Ukraine will be without compromising on territory or sovereignty as it was clearly spelt out the their forces have pushed Russians back from Kyiv.
They talked about the heavy losses incurred as a result of the unprovoked war between the two countries, despite efforts by external parties to stop the war before it escalate into World War III.
On their part, Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, hinted that talks so far had not yielded any substantial progress but it was important they continued in person.
Ukraine and the UnitedStates hold little hope of an immediate breakthrough. But the resumption of face-to-face talks is an important first step towards a ceasefire in a Russian invasion that is stalled on most fronts but inflicting horrible suffering on civilians trapped in besieged cities.
