Ugwuanyi Visits Black Areas in Enugu State

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi pays unscheduled visit to some black areas in the state believed to be a den for hoodlums and criminals.

Ugwuanyi who stormed Ogui in Enugu, the most popular place known for breeding drug peddlers and criminals stormed the place with some of his security personnel. He was seen interacting with the locals in the neighborhood and asking them to show him the hideouts.

Unfortunately, before he could gather tangible information, the hideouts were deserted by the users and occupants.

Uguwanyi summoned the DPO in the area and interrogated him concerning the issue. He however did not deny being aware of the issue but claimed that he is new in the area and is yet to get accustomed to certain issues in the Area.

The police later raided some of the criminal hideouts and apprehended many suspects in the area.

It was gathered that some exhibits were equally recovered from the suspects.

When contacted, Ebere Amaraizu, the spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, said he learnt that the governor visited the area a few days ago.

Amaraizu, a Superintendent of Police (SP) confirmed that the police raided some criminal hideouts in Ogui and Artisan, where no fewer than 70 suspects were arrested and several exhibits recovered.

He said some of the suspects were charged to court immediately.
