Share

The return leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals resumes with Liverpool looking to replicate what they did last season. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, looks to take on German side Borussia Dortmund with the hope of setting a comeback for in the clash. As always we will be giving analysis on the games and then make predictions based on their previous meetings and current form.

UEFA Champions League quarter-finals’ Games Prediction

Liverpool vs Athletic Madrid

Liverpool vs Athletic Madrid

Liverpool will be looking to stage a comeback in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals clash when they host Diego Simeone men. The defending champions of the Champions League has been very impressive this season. They have only managed to lose five matches this season with two draws, they lost their first game in the English Premier League against Watford. They rose from a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea to beat Bournemouth in the weekend, they are now set to take on Athletico Madrid.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane

Their Anfield has been turned into a ground where they can hardly lose and that’s where the Wednesday UEFA Champions League quarter-finals will be played. Liverpool aim to overcome a one-goal deficit, and, no doubt, the hosts are likely to fight tooth and nail in the return leg. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are ment to watch in the home team, both of them scored in their 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in the in EPL Matchday 29.

Captain Jordan Henderson remains in the recovery room, but Jurgen Klopp has a number of top-class players to choose from, who are capable of making a comeback. Los Rojiblancos are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but their away record in European competitions has not been very good and so playing away win will be very risky and costly. Liverpool could be playing without their number one Allison Becker due to injury.

Alvero Morata

Diego Simeone’s troops are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence and a 1-0 first leg win we think it will be very hard to beat Liverpool in front of the home fans. A player to watch in the away team will be Alvero Morata who broke his goal scoring drought on Saturday in their league game. Our prediction for the game will be home win and over 2.5

Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund

Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund

Paris Saint-Germain will host Borussia Dortmund at their Parc des Princes in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals clash. Les Parisiens have been in top form from the start of the season till now, they have been scoring goals for fun in all competitions of late. French attacker Kylian Mbappe who looks presently unstoppable has being leading the attack on the right track.

Kylian Mbappe

Inter Milan loaned player Icardi has also been doing well since joining the club. Considering that fellow attackers Neymar and Cavani are both fit for the return leg, we are positive that the Ligue 1 giants are going to overcome a one-goal deficit in front of home fans.

Lucien Favre’s troops did well to beat PSG 2-1 at their Signal-Iduna-Park, and so they relatively minor work now to do, the only question is can they hold the PSG attack? They travel to the French Legue 1 champions without their fans as the games will be played behind closed doors due to the rapid spread of coronavirus.

Erling Haland

The club’s skipper Marco Reus has been struggling with injury of late, we do not believe that the Bundesliga side will want to risk him in the game. In his absence a man to keep an eye on is recent signing the golden boy Erling Haland who have been scoring goals for fun in the Bundesliga. Seeing that both teams are a good scoring side we will go with both teams to score.
