UEFA Champions League Matchday 4

Share

The second leg of the UEFA Champions League continues with major clubs looking to seal their top place in their various groups. After a horrible weekend for the German giants Bayern Munich, they look to welcome Greece giants Olympiacos in their Allianz Arena. While the Old Ladyboys travel to Russia to battle Lokomotiv Moscow.

Manchester City will be traveling Italy to play Atlanta and other games will also be played today. Arsenal will be playing Guimaraes in the Europa League this evening as well. Over here, we will be looking at the preview of the matches to be played and give possible predictions.

PSG VS Club Brugge

After a splendid 5-0 win at Club Brugge home ground, PSG will be looking to cement top place position in Group A, as they host Club Brugge. The French men aim to keep their 100% record in the UEFA Champions League intact but can the Belgium men stop them?

Les Parisien’s star player Kylian Mbappe is back and he has started marking his mark in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappe has been scoring goals for fun ever since he recovered from his injury. He is likely to post a threat to the away defenders.

Over the years PSG has turned their Parc des Princes into a real fortress, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. Club Brugge are eyeing their first win of the process, but as they experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the 5-0 loss to the Ligue 1 champions. The visitors are likely to return home without a point from the trip to Paris.

Real Madrid vs Galatasaray

After beating Galatasaray 1-0 in at home in Istanbul, Real Madrid will be aiming to record their second Champions League win in their group. They welcome the Turkish side to their Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. Los Blancos have been struggling to find their best form in the first half of the season. The Champions League has a different spirit entirely and so we predict a home win.

The French tactician can count on key players for the Galatasaray game, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the Spanish giants. The Turks often struggle in matches against the top European side, and we do not believe that they will be able to spoil the day for the home side.

Crvena Zvezda vs Tottenham

Crvena Zvezda has been impressive in their home games but struggles in away games. The Serbian champions did well to beat Olympiacos 3-1 at their Stadion Rajko Mitic, but Tottenham proved to be a bigger match for them when they met. They aim to bounce back from the heavy 5-0 loss to Spurs, a point at home will mean a whole lot for them in today’s game.

The Serbian side is undefeated in the previous five home games in the UEFA Champions League (including qualifiers), which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Tottenham. Mauro Pochettino’s troops have been struggling in the Premier League this season, we predict that both teams will find the back of the net at the end of the game.

Bayern Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid

All eyes will be on BayArena when Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid face each other in the Champions League. The game is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Wednesday’s program. The BayArena outfit suffered a loss in each of their first three group games, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for them.

Peter Bosz’s troops have no other choice but to go all out at Los Rojiblancos, and we are positive that they are going to leave their hearts on the field.

However, beating Diego Simeone’s troops, who are yet to lose a match in the Champions League this season will be a huge problem. We still believe and hope that the away team will not lose the match. Our bet will be on the away team they will either win or draw.

Atlanta vs Manchester City

Atlanta has lost all of their last first three group games in the UEFA Champions League, they will be aiming to give their fans something to cheer when they take on Manchester City. They will be hosting the Citizens in their  Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday evening.

The Orobici’s pride will be at stake this time around, and we are positive that they are going to leave their hearts on the field. The Citizens, on the other hand, aim to keep their 100% record in Group C intact.

Pep Guardiola’s men have been scoring goals for fun in all competitions of late, and they are likely to build on the 5-1 triumph over the Serie A club. The Premier League side is eager to retain top position in the standings. And given Atalanta’s shaky defense, we believe Raheem Sterling and Co. are going to extend their winning run.

Locomotive Moscow vs Juventus

Juventus will be looking to retain the top position in Group D when they take on Lokomotiv Moscow. The Bianconeri recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Russian side in Turin, after countless wasted chances. Juve aims to get their job done in the Champions League as soon as possible. We predict that the Italian giants will win the match.

The hosts are likely to adopt a defense-minded approach in Wednesday’s football match. But preventing expensive Juve attackers from scoring won’t be easy. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Cristiano Ronaldo. He has netted 127 goals in the Champions League in his career. Paulo Dybala is also another player to look out for.

Bayern Munich  vs Olympiacos

Bayern Munchen will be aiming to keep their 100% record in Group B intact when they take on Olympiacos Piraeus. The mighty Bavarians want to seal their place in the Champions League group stages as soon as possible. We are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play against the Greek outfit.

Robert Lewandowski is one player to look out for, he has scored in all his Champions League appearance this season. He will surely give the away defense work to do. Olympiacos, on the other hand, have collected only one point from possible nine in Group B. We do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Bayern Munchen’s party at Allianz Arena. In their last meeting, Bayern thrashed them 4-0. This is yet another reason why we are tempted to bet on the home side.

Europa Game

Vitoria Guimaraes vs Arsenal

Arsenal will be looking to keep their 100% record in the 2019/2020 Europa League season intact. Unai Emery is likely to stick to his rotation policy, relying on young and talented players. The Gunners have been producing excellent performances in the Europa League this season. Vitoria Guimaraes’ has been poor in Group F. Away win is what we predict.

A man to watch in the away team will be Brazilian rising star Martinelli. Who has already netted three goals in the Europa League group stage. The Primeira Liga side suffered a loss in each of their first three group games. And we think they can’t spoil the fun for the English side.
