Manchester United could be playing their last Champions League group stage game without two vital players. Edison Cavani and Anthony martial have been reported to have sustained an injury. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave the information following their 3-1 win over West Ham United yesterday.
The pair were substituted during the Reds Devils’ 3-1 win over West Ham United as the Uruguayan star was withdrawn at half time. On the other hand, Martial was substituted just after the hour mark and it has been confirmed that the two forwards are doubtful for the Champions League decider against RB Leipzig.
Manchester United need a win against the Bundesliga side after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in midweek at Old Trafford 1-3. According to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he said: “We lost Anthony and Edinson.” “Hopefully they aren’t too bad but they couldn’t carry on today.”
“There’s a game coming up on Tuesday but that’s probably going to be the season this year. “There’s going to be some games that we have to do without players and I’m glad we’ve got the subs that we have. “They’re not bad ones (injuries) hopefully. We’ll do scans and hopefully, they’ll be available soon.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also confirmed that the injuries to Cavani and Martial was not that serious and would return sooner than expected. After the Champions League clash against Leipzig in midweek United will host rivals Manchester City in a blockbuster clash and Solskjaer is looking forward to the fixture. “It’s a brilliant week. We’re looking forward to it. That’s a good start.”
