Tukur Buratai Hits Back At Critics

Amid reactions trailing his ambassadorial appointment, the former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai said he has nothing to say to his critics.

Buratai, who opined that he performed creditably well during his tenure as service chief said appreciative officers compiled the numerous projects executed by his administration at Army Headquarters in July 2020.

Speaking during a dinner at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, Buratai described his latest appointment as honourable.

He said so many achievements were recorded in the areas of infrastructure, capacity building, and training, among other areas.

Buratai listed the training exercise he organised to include Python dance, Crocodile smile and Exercise Sahel Sanity.

However, Buratai thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing him as Chief of Army Staff, adding that he discharged his responsibilities to the best of his ability.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu had justified the immediate past service chiefs’ ambassadorial nomination.

Shehu described their nominations as a reward for hard work and exceptional sacrifice. He also criticised the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for calling for the retired military chiefs’ prosecution.

You will recall that the opposition party had accused the Buhari-led administration of attempting to shield the ex-service chiefs from an investigation.
