Traffic Offenders: LASTMA To Go Digital

As part of efforts to arrest traffic offenders, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has disclosed plans to make its officers wear body cameras.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Olajide Oduyoye, who disclosed this on Channels Television, said technology is the way to go for the agency.

Oduyoye added that the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed the readiness to help LASTMA acquire the necessary technologies.

According to Oduyoye, LASTMA officials would be wearing body cameras to capture incidences that can be used against traffic offenders.

Meanwhile, the LASTMA Boss alleged that some traffic violators often remove traffic signs to disobey road laws deliberately.

You will recall that a motorist recently knocked down a police officer over a bridge while trying to escape arrest.

Oduyoye revealed that the motorist, identified as Sunday Okodo, would be charged with attempted murder and traffic violation.
