Finally, Tourism Sector Gets Attention as NTDA Pledges Resuscitation

The tourism sector, among travel and hospitality, will finally be getting the needed attention, as the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, has promised it would renew and grow the industry.

To accomplish this feat, NTDC disclosed it would organise the South-South Tourism Stakeholders’ Interactive Forum to guarantee the growth of the tourism, travel and hospitality industries, respectively.

NTDC’s Director-General, Mr Folorunsho Coker, said this in a statement given to journalists yesterday in Abuja.

In an agency report, Coker noted that the forum would hold on August 26, 2021, in Calabar, Cross River.

According to Coker, the forum provides a platform for the South-South tourism stakeholders to deliberate on current issues bothering the industry.

He said the theme of the programme is: “The Use of Digital Technology to Revamp the Tourism and Hospitality Industry amid COVID-19 and Security Challenges in Nigeria”.

Mr Folorunsho Coker hinted the forum is in line with the Federal Government’s directive to diversify the economy, adding that stakeholders’ views would be harvested for the transformation of the tourism sector in Nigeria.
