Tottenham Squad hit With Coronavirus

The Tottenham Hotspur football squad has been hit with the Coronavirus outbreak ahead of the Europa Conference League game.

It has been reported that several players and staff have returned a positive result of the COVID-19 test.

Although the names of players and staff affected were not disclosed, the club will do more PCR testing in the next 24hours ahead of their Thursday fixture against Rennes.

Tottenham Games to be Posponed

HOWEVER, the UEFA regulations state that if the affected team has 13 available players, including a goalkeeper out of their 25 man A-list, they must fulfil their European fixture.

But if they do not have up to thirteen available players, the game could be postponed, but all European group matches must be completed by December 31st.

Tottenham needs a win against Rennes to stand a chance of qualifying for the round of 32 fixtures.

The ‘lily white’ also have a Sunday fixture in the Premier League against Brighton and Hoves Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The competition board will determine if the fixture will be postponed if the Tottenham board contacts the Premier League ahead of their league game.
