Amidst speculations making the rounds that he is nursing the ambition of contesting during the 2023 General elections, former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has reacted to calls for civil war in Nigeria.

Tinubu, who recently visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock, Abuja, urged those beating the drum of war to desist, noting that Nigeria is better as one indivisible entity.

The National Leader of All Progressives Congress, who stated this during a Special Ramadan Prayer lecture at the Lagos House, Marina, opined that another civil war could severely affect Nigeria.

According to him, civil war could make Nigeria become another Iraq or Sudan, adding that the country is yet to recover from the last civil war.

Tinubu prayed that God would not allow Nigeria to experience another civil war; he referred to some of the havoc caused by the civil war in Iraq and Sudan, among other countries.

The APC leader said he has no place to run to in case of another civil war in Nigeria. He further stated that whoever has experienced conflict in the past will not pray for such.

Meanwhile, the Ramadan lecture was attended by political and business leaders such as Chief Bisi Akande, Bola Tinubu, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and business tycoon Aliko Dangote.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, said he used the opportunity of the Ramadan lecture to brief the leaders about many of his administration’s programmes and also told them some of the far-reaching actions his government have taken to strengthen security and bring succour to Lagosians.
