Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the once Presidential Aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC, is now the flag bearer of the party as he Overwhelmingly defeated counterparts like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to clinch the party ticket.
Tinubu clinched the first place in the just concluded APC Presidential Primary, beating Amaechi who came second and VP Osinbajo, who came third after the final result from the delegates choices was announced a few minutes ago.
Other runner-ups include President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan in fourth place, Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello in fifth place, Then Dave Umahi, the Ebonyi State Governor, followed by Ben Ayade and so on.
Asiwaju scored 1271 Votes, Amaechi scored 316, Vice President got 235, Ahmed Lawan received 152, Yahaya Bello polled 47, among others.
More than 2,300 delegates voted in the contest that produced Tinubu as the presidential flagbearer of the ruling party.
He is now scheduled to face the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and others in the February 25 presidential ballot.
