Timely urination can never be over emphasised. Urinating at the right time is a great step towards keeping a healthy lifestyle. There is need for one to pay attention to this detail.

There are some speculations as to how many times one should urinate. How often is a signal for something else? How many times is too safe for health? You need to bear in mind that several factors affect how many times one urinates in a day. Medication, supplements, foods and beverages can play a role, as can certain medical conditions.

  1. You might end up bursting your bladder. As incredible and unlikely as it might sound, it is a possibility when you hold the pee for too long.
  2. Urinary tract Infection. Holding back urine is putting you at great risk of contracting urinary tract infection as a result of bacteria. Research has shown that holding back your urine can cause UTI bacteria to multiply rapidly.
  3. Urinary Incontinence: as fancy as this may sound, this is something you do not want to experience. This means you will be leaking with urine at the slightest increase of body pressure like sneezing or laughing.
  4. Kidney Stones: this is a painful condition formed by waste products in the blood which form crystals over time. If you are lucky, you might pass them put during urination if they are small. If not, you might require surgery to remove the bigger ones.
  5. Pain: holding back urine can cause general body pains. This might be due to clinched muscles trying to hold back.
