Chelsea has finally confirmed the appointment of former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel as their new head coach. The German-born coach was confirmed recently.

The Blues announced in a statement released on Tuesday. Frank Lampard was sacked on Monday after 18 months in charge of the club.

Lampard left Chelsea in the ninth-place position in the Premier League table with 12 points off leaders Manchester City and 11 off second-place Manchester United.

Thomas Tuchel was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain early this month, and he has been out of work for one month now. Tuchel spoke about the former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, and he said: “I would like to thank Chelsea for their confidence in me and my staff.”

The 47-year-old got more fame after reaching the Uefa Champions League final with Paris Saint-Germain which they lost to Bayern Munich. Frank Lampard left Chelsea with a record, and he is the coach with the worst points-per-game ratio Chelsea has ever had.
