Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has called on England international Tammy Abraham to stand and fight for his place in the club if he wants to get a shirt in his team. The manager dropped the player in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
Abraham was surprisingly left out of the squad when they welcomed Manchester United on Sunday. Olivier Giroud led Chelsea’s attack before Timo Werner came and took over from him in the second half.
The new manager has challenged the Englishman to accept the situation of things in the club now. He said Abraham should work to force his way back into the team.
Thomas Tuchel said: “This situation is natural, he has to do exactly what he does; train well, be in a good mood and accept that he is a striker for Chelsea, so this is the highest competition in Europe.”
He also said Chelsea is a big club and is challenging. When you have these players to choose from, he is happy to manage such a team. Abraham’s Chelsea contract runs until 2023.
