The Liverpool attack trio was up against Burnley in the weekend before the international break. Burnley had looked lively early on and had the first opportunity of the game when Wood forced a smart low save from Adrian after running in behind Virgil van Dijk. Liverpool’s threat was high as well with Mohamed Salah striking twice and nearly giving the breakthrough.
The opener came just before the half time in 33rd minute of the game when Alexander-Arnold’s cross was deflected on the back of Wood and went passed the goal-keeper. Saido Mana had the second goal for the Reds while Brazilian Fermino scored the third goal to seal the away 3-0 win at Turf Moor.
Something happened in 85th minute. The Senegalese international was substituted for Origi, he walked to the bench in rage shouting after Salah denied his brace in the game. He was well-positioned to score but the Egyptian greedily lost the ball in the box trying to score himself.
Mane was calmed down by fellow team-mates James Milner and Roberto Firmino. Saido Mane’s mood did not change even after the full-time whistle. Liverpool fans and players seems to be worried because they are seen to be among the World’s deadliest attack trio. Should any of them(Mane, Fermino and Salah) fall out, it will cost the team a lot.
Jorgen Klopp’s Reaction
The manager confirmed Mane’s beef with his team-mate. He said: “There was a situation in the game he was not happy about it”. Klopp said it was obvious that Mane was upset and could not hide his emotion. The manager said, “Mane is completely fine and everything is good and they completely like each other”.
Although they have settled the issues, it can only be true if the cooperation which has brought them this far is seen in their next game. They will be hosting Newcastle United at Anfield. Man City is just two points behind them and their attack line is a good one. Liverpool attack trio really has to put individuality aside if they want to win the EPL this season.
