Europa League Round of 32 Action: Unstoppable English Teams, a Must-Win Not Needed

Share

The Europa League Action continues with all English teams already in the next stage of the competition. Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves are the only English teams in the tournament. They have done well to qualify for the next stage just like Chelsea and Arsenal did the last time. Both the Champions League and Europa League have the top English teams on board. Over here we will be giving analyses on their previous games and then make predictions.

Europa League Action Game between Manchester United vs AZ Alkmaar

Manchester United vs AZ Alkmaar

Manchester United will be looking to complete their top place in Group L in a grand style as they welcome AZ Alkmaar. The match will be played in the iconic home of Manchester United Old Trafford in their last group game. Ole’s troops have been showing signs of improvement of late. They had a back to back win in the English Premier League, a win over Tottenham and Manchester City is a big plus for them. With this confidence and the return of Nemanja Matic to the team the match will be a match filled with expectations.

A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Marcus Rashford. Rashford has scored in his last five games he is surely having a season to remember. AZ Alkmaar, on the other hand, look unstoppable in the Dutch Eredivisie at the moment. They are just a point behind United but playing away from home will be hard for them. Both teams are scoring sides and so our bet will both teams to score.

Europa League Action Game between Wolverhampton vs Besiktas

Wolverhampton vs Besiktas

The Molineux Stadium pits will host Wolverhampton and Besiktas in the Thursday Europa League action. Wolverhampton have already booked their place in the Europa League last 32. They are in the second position on the table with one point behind group leaders Brage. Wolves will be playing bottom-placed Besiktas and a sure win is on the cards. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is going to rest several first-team regulars in the last group game but, we are sure of a home.

Besiktas, on the other hand, have nothing to play for in the Molineux Stadium clash. Head coach Abdullah Avci is going to mix the squad as well. Regardless of which players will be deployed in the Wolves’ starting XI, we believe that home win should be considered. The Turkish side are very low on confidence ahead of the match on Thursday. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Wolverhampton’s skipper Raul Jimenez.

Europa League Action Game between Standard Liege vs Arsenal

Standard Leige vs Arsenal

Stade Maurice Dufrasne will host Thursday’s football game between Standard Liege and Arsenal. Standard face a must-win situation against Arsenal, and we are positive that they will go all out to win against Arsenal. The Red Devils are a real force to be reckoned with at home. We will be putting our money on the home team. Michel Preud’homme’s troops will take all three points from the Thursday clash between them and the English side.

The Premier League side have been struggling under interim manager Freddy Ljungberg of late. They secured their first win after nine games without win in all competition. Arsenal have alredy booked their place in the next stage of the Europa League. Freddy Ljungberg will sure rest his players against a much more needed game in the Premier League. They will be playing Manchester City who are hungry for a win after two games without a win. Home win should be considered seeing that Arsenal has nothing to loss.
