The 4th Round of the FA Cup actions resumes with lots of expectations as Manchester host lower league side Fulham. English Premier League leaders Liverpool will be traveling to play Shrubbery as Leicester City battle Brentford. The Saints and Spurs will clash in the Saint May Stadium while Arsenal will be hosted by Bournemouth. Over here we will be giving analysis based on their previous meetings and then make possible predictions.
4th Round of the FA CUP Games and Prediction
Brentford vs Leicester City
After a stunning performance from the Foxes in the EPL Matchday 24, they travel to Griffin Park for the 4th Round of the FA Cup. The host has been impressive in the Championship this season and are aiming at getting a qualification to English Premiership. The Bees are on the right track to book their place in the Championship play-offs. Although they will be playing to secure a win, we believe Premiership qualification will be more important to them and so they will not be all out in the game.
Also seeing that their next league game will be against Nottingham forest who are just a point above them they will be careful not to gamble at all. The Foxes, on the other hand, have been producing splendid performance in the EPL. They bounced back from a shocking 2-1 loss to Burnley to thrash West Ham 4-1 in the EPL Matchday 24. Leicester City’s main goal is to secure a top-four finish in the EPL, they are already there so this means that they will come all out.
Leicester City have a tough match in the league which is against Chelsea and so they will do well to rest key players. Their star player Jamie Vardy was injured in their last game and so won’t be in action for the visitors. A close encounter is on the cards at Griffin Park; therefore, we are tempted to put our money on draw.
Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur
Jose Mourinho Tottenham secured their first win of the year in their EPL Matchday 24 encounter against Norwich. They will be aiming to build on the win when they take on the Saints in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. They will be aiming to take revenge on Southampton for the Premier League loss the last time they met in the EPL. Harry Kane, who suffered a hamstring injury back then, remains in the recovery room, and he will be sorely missed in Saturday’s FA Cup game.
The Saints, on the other hand, have been producing fine performances in 2020. They opened the year with 1-0 defeat to Spurs and are since then in top form. We believe they are going to take advantage of the fact that Spurs will be without their key player Harry Keane. A man to watch on the home side will be Danny Ings, who has been scoring goals for fun this season. We are putting our cards on goal-goal.
Hull City vs Chelsea
After a disappointing start to the year for Chelsea who draw to 10-man Arsenal in within the week, they will be playing Hull City in the 4th round of the FA Cup. The two teams who faced each other in the 2017/18 FA Cup campaign, will be meeting again. And they are seen as favourites to win the tie. Frank Lampard’s troops have slim chances of winning the Premier League trophy and FA Cup is their aim. We predict that they will go all guns blazing at Hull City.
Chelsea will be without top scorer Tammy Abraham who sustain an injury in the their 2-2 draw with Arsenal and very few options are left. Hull City head into the match following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Fulham and Derby County. With this type result they have, we are tempted to put our money on Chelsea.
Manchester City vs Fulham
Manchester City have slim chances of winning the Premier League trophy, but they are surely capable of going all the way in the FA Cup. The reigning champions are seen as hot favourites to win Sunday’s football game against Fulham. We predict that in-form attacker Kun Aguero is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Pep Guardiola’s troops are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and they should not find it hard to advance to the last 16 of the FA Cup.
The Cottagers, on the other hand, are without key attacker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who will be sorely missed in the Etihad Stadium clash. Since Fulham is not regarded as good travelers, they are unlikely to claim a major scalp in the match. In their last meeting in a competitive match the Citizens defeated the Cottagers 2-0.
Shrewsbury Town vs Liverpool
High-flying Liverpool will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Shrewsbury Town at Montgomery Waters Meadow in the FA Cup last 32. The Reds are fully focused on winning the Premier League trophy, meaning that boss Jurgen Klopp is likely to stick to his rotation policy in the FA Cup. The German tactician is expected to rest key players in Sunday’s football match, but regardless of which players will be deployed in the starting XI, away win should be considered.
A man to watch in the away team will be Divock Origi, who is likely to lead the line for the Reds against the Shrews. Shrewsbury Town are not enjoying a season to remember, and we do not believe that they are capable of matching the Premier League leaders. The two teams meet in the FA Cup in 1996, with Liverpool rolling over Shrewsbury Town 4-0.
