Public Health Activist and Twitter influencer, Aproko Doctor says “Staphylococcus is not an STD”. In a twitter thread published earlier today by the professional geared towards educating the masses on what Staphylococcus is exactly.
According to him, there are different kinds of Staphylococcus. However, the Aureus type of Staphylococcus is found in the nose, throat, skin and sometimes in the intestine. He mentioned that it can also be found on doorknobs, remotes, elevatpr buttons and on phones.
Moving forward, Aproko Doctor called out uninformed and quack practitioners who go around deceiving people into believing Staphylococcus is an STD and have even named it as a cause of infertility.
While still creating awareness for the real cause and symptoms of Staphylococcus Aureus, he revealed that symptoms might include but not limited to boils. He also mentioned that in severe cases, it can cause heart infections, bone infections, pneumonia or lung infection, and bloodstream infections.
He advised people to quit taking antibiotics without prescription or taking an incomplete prescription as this increases the bacterial resistance.
