A quiet Kwara community was thrown into chaos on Tuesday after terrorists launched a brutal attack on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, leaving three worshippers dead and several others abducted.

Residents say the peaceful evening quickly descended into terror as armed men surrounded the church during a meeting and opened fire without warning. Screams, confusion, and a desperate scramble for safety followed, plunging the town into fear and heartbreak could this be another genocide attempt.

According to reports, the gunmen shot indiscriminately before whisking away some worshippers, including the church’s pastor, in what has become one of the most traumatic incidents the community has faced in recent times. The attack has sparked widespread panic, with families grieving their losses and others anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones who were taken.

Witnesses described the scene as horrifying, with the suddenness of the invasion leaving many unable to escape. The community has since been enveloped in tension and mourning as residents struggle to come to terms with the tragedy.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement, but locals are calling for swift action to rescue the abductees and restore security to the area.
