Terror: How Bandits Murdered 80 Nigerians in One Day

Bandits have attacked and killed persons numbering up to eighty in several communities in Sokoto State in just a single night.

The aggrieved survivors in the communities took it upon themselves to write a note to President Muhammadu Buhari, asking for protection and a means to address the continuous killings.

First, the Community Leaders notified the President about the gruesome murder of twenty-three passengers burnt alive by the gunmen, among several other killings carried out in horrific manners.

Also, they described how the passengers and their travel vehicle were ambushed at Gidan Bawa Village in the Local Government Area, LGA of the state.

Describing the event, the leaders said it has scared, brutalised, demoralised and traumatised, adding that their people are repeatedly butchered like animals by the terrorist groups.

They named other areas in the state where the bandits constantly raid, including about three local governments in Sokoto East Senatorial Districts: Isa, Sabon Birni and Goronyo and Shinkafi Local Government Zamfara.

The villagers assured that they could provide the security agencies in the region with the needed intel to help salvage the situation.

Noting that they now live in fear and agony, the village heads disclosed that the raiders come in and walk away with anything they desire from the people, including but not limited to cash taxes, food supply, drugs and sometimes their maidens.
