Super Eagles star forward Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to link up with the rest of Liverpool players for pre-season training next week. Awoniyi, who is a Liverpool player but has been with German Bundesliga side Union Berlin on loan, will now join the English Premier League in their pre-season tour.
The striker is yet to play in an officials game for Liverpool since he arrived at the club for a fee of around £400,000. Awoniyi signed a contract extension with Liverpool in 2018, which expires in 2023.
The 23-year-old has spent time on loan with clubs in Holland, Belgium and Germany. He is currently playing with German Bundesliga side Union Berlin but could be making a return to his mother club depending on his performance in the pre-season.
He has so far scored five goals and bagged three assists in 21 league appearances for Union Berlin during the last campaign.
