To protest what they described as their incessant arrest by the security agencies, some suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys have staged a walk-in Osun State.

They reportedly blocked Osogbo/Ilesa expressway after they stormed the Ilesa West Local Government Secretariat, Ilesa.

Everyevery.ng gathered that the suspected Yahoo Boys made a bonfire on the road, halting the traffic’s free flow.

According to sources, the suspected internet fraudsters were protesting their recent arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They alleged that the EFCC officials recently stormed the hotel they lodged in and arrested some of their colleagues.

However, motorists plying the expressway were said to have been stranded owing to the road blockage.

In a related development, the EFCC had arraigned a Kwara State College of Health Technology lecturer, Opashola Abdullahi on one count charge bordering on romance scam.

Abdullahi was arraigned before Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency.

Opashola was among the 32 internet fraud suspects arrested in Offa on September 14, 2020. However, the embattled lecturer pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him.

Following his plea, counsel to EFCC, Andrew Akoja, led Paul Kera, an operative of EFCC in evidence to review the case’s facts.
