Suspected Killer Of Traditional Ruler In Kaduna State Arrested

The Nigerian Police force has said it arrested the suspected killer of the late traditional ruler, Maiwada Galadima.

The suspected killer, Abubakar Ibrahim, age 37, was arrested along with other suspects namely; Johnson Okafor, 44, Aminu Haruna, 25, Ibrahim Yusuf, Salisu Ajah, 50, Magaji Abubakar, 27, Salisu Ali, 18, among others.

The late ruler, Galadima, was abducted and murdered in October 2018, after being held captive for days.

In a statement by the Police Fore spokesperson, Frank Mba, said the suspect, Ibrahim and others were arrested on April 15 at Rigachikun in Igabi Local Govt, Kaduna State.

He said the suspect confessed to the kidnapping and murders.

Items recovered from the suspects were; 22 AK 47 riffles, 5 locally fabricated pistols and a cache of live ammunition.

Mba said the suspects have been involved in the most heinous crimes committed in Kaduna State.

He added, efforts are being intensified to arrest other gang members still at large and recover the weapons with the bandits.

Adding, that the gang are also suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Mallam Yakubu Usman, 40, of Jere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The arrest of the suspects followed that of Mallam Salisu Abubakar. The “Spiritual Father” of kidnappers and armed bandits pertain in the Northern Part of the country.
