Cultist stabs mechanic in Ogun state

A mechanic identified as Salaudeen Lawal has been stabbed to death in the Igbesa area of Ogun State by a suspected cultist on Sunday and the culprit is currently at large.

According to reports, Salausudeen Lawal was called on by a car owner to help fix his faulty car that developed faults by the side of the road around the Igbesa, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State.

In the process of fixing the said car, the suspected cultist simply called Bobo accosted the mechanic and accused him of intentionally blocking the road. An argument ensued between the two which lead to the suspect breaking a bottle and stabbing the victim in his hand. The bottle cut through some of the deceased’s veins.

Upon realising what he had done, the suspect fled the crime scene before the arrival of the police.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident to the press and according to him, the victim died while receiving medical treatment. In his press statement, he said,

“ A Distress call was made to the police at Igbesa divisional headquarters and the DPO SP Abayomi Adeniji quickly led his men to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital where he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment,”

He also gave the assurance that investigations are ongoing because the accomplice of the suspected cultist had been arrested and is helping the police find the culprit.

The Ogun State Commissioner Of Police, Edward Ajogun has declared the culprit wanted and has launched a manhunt urging residents of the state to bring any information that would enable the police to bring the culprit to book
