The Super Eagles will know their playoff opponent in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the 18th of December 2021. The head coach of the team, Gernot Rohr, has said he is impressed so far with the players’ performance even though fans believe that the team needs creativity.

However, the head coach charged the players not to relent, and they should continue in their hard work. The Eagles progressed into the playoff round following a 1-1 home draw against the Blue Shares of Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles joined nine other African countries in the final round of the qualifiers. Nigeria is among the five top-five seeded teams on the continent. The other four includes Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. The Super Eagles of Nigeria is likely to draw among the less seeded countries.

The five unseeded teams are; Egypt, Ghana, Mali, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The playoffs will be played between March 21 and 29, 2022. So, Nigeria could be drawn against Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
