Players and officials of the Super Eagles departed Nigeria to Porto Novo by speed boat to keep a date with Benin Republic in their AFCON qualifier.
The players were seen to be in high spirits as they boarded the boat.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr had assured the team would enjoy the boat trip to Benin ahead of their AFCON qualifier Saturday.
Some of the players raised concerns over the boat trip, but Rohr, who has already made the trip, said it would be the best way to get across to the neighbouring country.
The trip by boat to Benin took more than an hour.
Nigeria opted for this form of transportation because of the bad roads between the two countries, while there are too many protocols for a short flight across the border.
Just before the team took off, the official Twitter of the Super Eagles tweeted, We meeeuuuvveee! #soarsupereagles #Team9jaStrong
