Super Eagles’ Ahmed Musa Denies suffering From Coronavirus

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has come out to deny and describe the news of him having coronavirus as fake news. Reports were going on that the former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow player has tested positive to coronavirus, the global pandemic that has held the world to a stand still.

Ahmed Musa left the English Premier League side Leicester City after he could not get good playeing time with the club and moved to Saudi Arabia. He has been there for over two seasons now but with the outbreak of coronavirus which made the league to be suspended he decided to return to Nigeria to stay with his family.

The Super Eagles captain arrived Nigeria over the weekend with another Super Eagles player by name John Ogu in a private jet alongside some family members. On arrival he went into self-isolation which is expected by the law of the land, during his self-isolation rumors went that he has the coronavirus, however he denied the alegations via his Twitter handle.

In a post on his Twitter handle he said he only did what was expected of him to as every good citizen should, to self-isolate themselves on arrival from any country into the country. Ahmed Musa went ahead to say “Pls ignore any false news about me or testing positive to COVID 19. We are self-isolating for 14 days as we just got in from Saudi Arabia as the law stipulates. Stay safe! Maintain social distance. AVOID FAKE NEWS”

Ahmed Musa also took to his Instagram page where he wrote: “It has come to my notice that certain individuals have decided to post about me testing positive to COVID- 19.” “This is a pandemic taking people’s lives in thousands so it is sad that some people want to use this to gain followers or views on their pages by spreading falsehood.”

“We are perfectly okay and have not tested positive to the virus. Please don’t fall for the malicious messages circulating about me or my family” he concluded. The COVID-19 virus is one which has made football leagues caross Europe suspended with some clubs already planning of termination of the season. Dutch league has ended their season while the Scottish League was recently advised to end theirs too by Uefa.
