The management decided to take the action to restate it’s commitment to bringing examination malpractice to the barest level. The move was said to be aimed at ensuring that examination in the school is seen as sacred.

Mobile phones are one of the tools used by students to cheat during examinations, not only in Ibadan Polytechnic but in all institutions of learning in the country. The Ibadan Polytechnic is, therefore, ensuring that the crop of students being produced by the institution is prevented from this vices.

According to the institution’s deputy rector, there are rules guiding the principles of examination in the school and one of it is that no student, under whatever guise, should come into the examination hall with cell phones. The school’s management has therefore resolved to confiscate phones seen in the examination hall as it is been expressly stated on their examination paper that any phone found on any students during examinations would be confiscated. In its move not to allow any of the phones filter out, the school has resolved that such phones shall be burnt.
