Pioneer Speaker, Enugu Assembly, Reportedly Dies of Kidney Failure

Former Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Honourable Cletus Enebe, has reportedly died of kidney failure after battling the ailment for a couple of years.

He was referred to as the pioneer of the EnuguState Assembly which came immediately after the return of democracy in 1999, and unfortunately passed on Wednesday 30, 2022.

Enebe is from Awgu Local Government Area, LGA of Enugu State, and till date is remembered as the first pick for the office of the speaker of the state House Assembly in the year 1999.

On the above note, details of his death were sketchy as the time of this report but sources say he has been sick for some time and allegedly went to India recently for a kidney transplant.

Present Speaker Condoles Enebe’s Family

Informing the public of his death, the speaker of Enugu State Assembly, Edward Uchenna Ubosi described his passing as a huge loss to Enugu State and the State Assembly while commiserating with his family.

On the matter, the assembly issued a statement yesterday, Where Ubosi described Enebe as a quintessential lawmaker who has paid his dues in the building of the state.

He prayed that God will console his grieving family and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
