Spain experienced their first defeat in two years, the 2010 World Cup winners have not lost a game for the past two years that record was broken yesterday when Ukraine beat 1-0. Ukraine did well to bounce back from two straight loses, losing to France 7-1 in an international friendly and also losing to Germany.

English Premier League side Leeds United forward Rodrigo spurned two headed chances but the Ukraine goalkeeper Georgi Bushchan came prepared for the Spaniards.

The 2012 Euro winners won everything in the game but not the scoreline which is the most important, they had a total of 21 shots but Ukraine made just one score in Kiev. Ukraine substitute Viktor Tsygankov ran on to West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko’s pass to beat David de Gea.

The Manchester United goalkeeper was caught out of position on the counter-attack as Luis Enrique’s side lost for the first time since Croatia beat them 3-2 in November 2018. They are still top of Group A4 by just a point ahead of Germany.

About 15,000 fans were allowed in to watch the Nations League game, which was dominated by Spain. The visitors had 72% of possession and forced Bushchan into eight saves, but the Dynamo Kiev man was in unbeatable form.

Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique who is the manager of the Spanish national team criticized blames on Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea he said blaming De Gea is already wrong, it puts a lot on him. If David is blamed for a game like this, turn it off and let’s go.

The coach also said the responsibility for each goal lies with the whole team. He is on the opinion that they did not just make good use of the chances they had, he also said they were in control of the game the whole 90 minutes luck was not just on their side.
