Soldier Accused of Assisting ISWAP Terrorists Commits Suicide

Reports have it that the soldier earlier accused of assisting the Islamic State in West African Province, ISWAP, and Boko Haram Terrorists has committed suicide.

He, Lance Corporal Abdullahi Jibrin, was allegedly fingered during the attacks in Geidam and was later arrested around the Gashua axis.

Speaking on the incident, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai in Damaturu, Lieutenant Anyawu Kennedy, noted that the incident is true, stating that the army officer took his life using an AK-47 rifle.

Soldier Kills Self with AK-47

The Assistant Director of the Public Relations unit stated, “Lance Corporal Abdullahi Jibrin was allegedly fingered during the last attack in Geidam and arrested by his commanding officer for failing out of duty. He later struggled and forcefully used an AK-47 rifle to kill himself.”

He further disclosed that the army have put a comnmittee in place to find out the true reason why he took his life and wouls later make it public for accurate information purposes.
