Sokratis Signs 2-yrs Contract with Greek Top Side

Former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has returned to his country as he signs for Greek club Olympiakos. The defender was released by Arsenal recently and now has returned to his country.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos Joins Olympiacos

Olympiacos confirmed the signing of the 32-year-old in their social media handle (Twitter handle). Sokratis joined Arsenal in 2018 and played for them till 2021 when he was finally released.

He has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Greek club Olympiakos. He joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in July 2018 and made 69 appearances for the club.

Olympiakos are currently topping the Greek Super League with 48 points from 18 games, 11 points clear of second-placed AEK Athens. According to the player, he said: “It was easy to say yes.” “I did not come to Greece to end my career but to win.”

Olympiakos are still in the Uefa Europa Cup and they will be playing PSV Eindhoven in their next game in the last 32 round.
