Nigerians have reacted to the reconciliation move between Channels TV reporter, Pius Angbo and his wife by Governor Ortom of Benue State.
Recall that the reporter’s wife took to social media to cry out over domestic violence in her home.
She shared a video of herself with a face panel-beaten by the husband because she had advised him not to spend recklessly on ladies and focus on their four kids.
Some hours after the video became viral, the lady was seen with her husband who hails from Benue State.
Reports says the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has helped to settle the matter as the wife was seen hugging the husband.
In reaction to the latest development, singer, Simi who had earlier made a statement concerning domestic violence on her page wasn’t okay with how the matter ended.
She claimed that the woman must be terrified after exposing the husband and then asked if the man will go scot free.
Simi wrote, “I know she’s terrified. After exposing him like that, I hope she’s safe.
“So they won’t arrest that man?” she added.
Toke Makinwa in a Twitter thread said it is a wrong move for the woman to continue in the marriage while the husband also go scot free.
The vlogger although received backlashes as some people stated that she is pushing for a failed marriage because her marriage failed, she didn’t back out.
She wrote, “He should be jailed, locked up but the old mentality of you are trying to destroy their marriage, God help us.
Activist, Aisha Yesufu wrote, “All I see is pain in her face and voice. Gosh! This is not life. Your home should be a safe haven not a prison.
